Stop Snoring Aid
Welcome to
the Stop Snoring Aid
webpage. Choosing the right stop snoring aid can be
hard, and we're here to provide helpful advice and
information.
It is important to
realize that there are a couple of differently types of snoring
conditions, one is fairly harmless, and just a little
inconvenient, the other can be a much more serious condition
which may need medical intervention, and should at least get
you to go and see you medical healthcare
professional.
You may suffer from one, or a combination of both these
conditions. as you sleep the muscles in the mouth and throat
relax, and the tongue may fall towards the back of the throat
and rest against the uvula. This can obstruct the airway and
cause a snore. If you have a structural problem with your nose,
or suffer from allergies, blocked nasal passages can also be a
cause of your snoring.
The two types of snoring
are:
- Primary Snoring is simply the
making of loud noises whilst you sleep. It is, on it's own,
not a major problem in medical terms and does not have the
problem of cessation of breathing (known as an apnea) which
is found in the more serious sleep apnea
condition.
- Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a
condition which can be very mild, or extremely serious.
When the soft tissues of the mouth and throat obstruct the
airway to the extent that the sufferer is unable to breath,
an apnea can occur. This can last from a few seconds up to
30 seconds and is defined by causing neurological arousal
and/or a marked decrease in oxygen saturation levels in the
blood. Sleep Apnea does not always have a snoring
component, and can be a very serious, and occasionally, a
life threatening condition. If you have any reason to
suspect sleep apnea, pay your doctor a visit and get it
diagnosed through a sleep study.
There are a plethora of
products on the market to help reduce and alleviate your
snoring condition. There are some really good stop snoring aid
devices that can help you a lot. You' get a better night's
sleep, and your family will too. Well worth the low cost to try
to find something that works for you.
Stop Snoring
Aids
Snoring Mouth
Guard
The ideal stop snoring aid is low cost, easy to use, long
lasting and effective. Some of the snoring and snoring sleep
apnea devices on the market fit inside your mouth and align
your lower jaw to keep your airway clear. Devices include
the snoring
mouth guard device,
sleep apnea mouthpiece, mandibular advancement devices
and a range of others. Some clamp the tongue to prevent
it from rolling towards the back of the throat and
blocking the airway.
These devices can definitely work as a snoring remedy to help
reduce snoring problems and help you get a good nights sleep.
The slight downside, at least in the initial stages of use, is
that they can cause some mild teeth discomfort and slight nasal
and mucosal dryness. This is usually reduced over time, but
they can take a few days to get used
to.
Sleep Apnea Pillows
This type of stop snoring aid works by positioning your
body and head in the best position to reduce the likelihood of
snoring. Depending on the model, it will encourage you to sleep
on your side, and will position your head and jaw so that the
airway is given it's best chance to remain clear throughout the
night. As a low cost (some models can be under $60 USD)
treatment, they are quite effective and totally non
invasive.
Snoring Chin Straps
Because many snorers breath through their mouths, this stop
snoring aid is a very simple, yet effective way to encourage
the snorer to breath through the nose. It is an adjustable head
harness which is fitted over the head and under the chin. It
effectively keeps the mouth closed during the night and stops
mouth breathing. Make sure that if you use one of these, you
have a clear nasal passage, or you'll spend the night
spluttering and trying to breath through your
mouth.
Stop snoring
aids are really good for mild
to moderate snoring conditions, and also for mild to moderate
sleep apnea. With the sleep apnea, you should ensure that you
are confident that the condition can be treated this way.
