Sleep Apnea Remedies

August 29th, 2010 · Sleep Apnea

Many sleep apnea suffers are at a loss to decide what form of action they should take  to cure, or at least reduce their sleep apnea episodes. The sleep apnea mouthpiece is one of the most widely available devices that are used to help reduce sleep apnea, but there are plenty of other solutions too.

Before you get too involved with making expensive purchases, there are a number of things you should consider to help control your apnea. Sleeping on your back is always a surefire position to encourage your episodes, or snoring to start. Side sleeping, although not a cure for all sufferers, can significantly reduce the chances of apnea episodes from occurring. It is one of the simplest remedies for sleep apnea, and can be started immediately, with or without the use of a sleep apnea pillow to help you maintain your side sleeping position.

trying to eliminate allergens and other allergy triggers is a good idea. If you can keep your nasal airway as clear as possible, there is less chance of you resorting to mouth breathing, another trigger for an apnea episode. Simple sleep apnea home remedies like this can save you hundreds of dollars on specialist devices, and can often be more effective.

We will be bringing you more home remedies for sleep apnea, and hope that they bring you relief to your condition

Snoring Pillows – Do They Really Work?

July 9th, 2010 · Products, Snoring

by Julian MacDowell

As someone who has snored for many years, I decided some time ago the look into the types of snoring devices that could help me. There were such a lot that initially, I was a bit stuck to know what to buy.

I found some that looked like a head harness, others that looked like gum shields, and strange shaped snoring pillows that made you sleep on your side, a better position for the snorer apparently. Some of these can also assist sleep apnea sufferers, but after a chat with my doctor, I was put at my ease that I was nothing but an innocent snorer.

I finally settled for a device called a snoring chin strap. It’s an odd looking harness that fits over your head and under the chin. It keeps the mouth closed during the hours of sleep and ensures that you breath only through the nose. Many snorers are mouth breathers, and mouth breathing is very closely associated with snoring.

Having been someone who woke every morning to a dry mouth due to mouth breathing, this snoring chin strap seems like a real solution to the issue, and so far, it;s working like a dream. The snoring is much improved.

The chin strap arrived a couple of weeks ago and I have been using it consistently. My spouse says that my snoring has reduced a lot and she’s as happy as I am. The severity and loudness has diminished and the frequency is also a lot less. For the low price of around $20, it certainly is great value for money. I’d recommend it for anyone who wants to try to stop snoring.

As another option, which I have recently been trialling, the snoring pillow does indeed appear to work very well. I bought one for a family member that snored quite badly on their back, and this realignment of their sleep position to a side sleeper profile has really helped them. They are also good to reduce headaches and neck and shoulder pain that some side sleepers endure. Worth checking out.

Are you a snorer that wants a low cost strategy to help reduce your problem? I know how you feel, I’ve been there too. Visit my information and product review website where I evaluate a range of products including the snoring pillow and the sleep apnea mouthpiece and a large range of other devices. I also find the best deals so you save money too.

Some Good Stop Snoring Solutions

July 7th, 2010 · Products, Snoring

by Julian MacDowell

I have been a chronic snorer for a number of years, and was getting pretty fed up with the condition, as was my wife. I discovered that there are quite a few useful anti snore aids that could help me to alleviate the disorder.

My snoring always seemed to be at its worst when I rolled over onto my back, and this made looking for a solution somewhat simpler. If I could just find a device that would keep me on my side at night, the problem would likely go away.

These are specially shaped pillows, constructed of memory foam, which work to prevent the sleeper from rolling over onto their backs whilst asleep. They’re a very simple device, completely non-invasive, and you still sleep great when using one. The product I purchased online also elongated my neck very slightly and pulled my lower jaw into a slightly forward position which works to keep the airway clear.

After using it for a few days, my wife noticed that my snoring had reduced both in frequency and severity. She was probably more relieved than me as she is a light sleeper and my years as snoring have taken an affect on her sleep patterns.

For those of you that mouth breathe while asleep, a special chinstrap is available that can also help the condition. These simple devices do little more than keeping the mouth closed during the night by a head harness and chin cup. They look a little bit odd but work exceptionally well. They can be purchased online for not much more than $20, a great deal if it stops you snoring.

I would recommend that you try out one or two of these low cost products after analysing your snoring habits, and see if they provide relief. You may need to try a couple of different items, but to be able to stop snoring makes the time and effort spent on research well worthwhile.

Stopping snoring has had a wonderful effect on both my energy levels, and also my relationship with my spouse, who was usually more tired than I was. I was astounded that snoring had such a detrimental effect on my life, for what seems like a fairly innocent problem. I feel great.

If you are eager to quit snoring, the use of snore aids could change your life. visit the main sleep apnea mouthpiece website and look at some great reviews on all types of anti snoring products and get the best snoring chin straps for your money.

Anti Snoring Pillows – How Do They Work?

July 6th, 2010 · Snoring

by Julian MacDowell

As a snorer or sleep apnea sufferer you have probably heard about the various anti snoring devices available on the market, all of which promise to cure your condition. Many work really well, some do not perform to the standard you would hope for. The product that offered me the best quick relief from my snoring was the anti snoring pillow, which works amazingly well.

The anti snore pillow is a low cost, highly effective, non invasive device that works in a very simple way. If you are like a large percentage of the worlds snorers, you will probably know that your snoring is at its most severe when you roll over onto your back during the night. This is a very normal trait for most snorers, but it does provide a method of effective treatment of the situation.

The snoring and apnea pillow is constructed of a special type of foam that will retain it,s shape well. By adapting to the contour of your upper body, it helps keep you in the side sleeper position during your sleeping hours.

By also elongating the neck slightly and positioning your head so the lower jaw is in a slightly forward position, the anti snoring pillow also maintains an open airway, essential for a snore free night sleep.

Many users say it reduces headaches, and helps to prevent discomfort on the arms, neck and upper body area. It has been expressed by a lot of people that the snore pillow can also help reduce headaches, possibly due to the removal of stress and tension on the neck

You will have a good range of pillows to choose from, and can expect to pay between $20 and $100 for it. The Sona Pillow is an FDA approved sleep apnea treatment and is a best-selling model. If you are only a mild snorer however, you could probably get away with using one of the cheaper pillows.

July 5th, 2010 · CPAP, Sleep Apnea

If you are a sleep apnea sufferer or a snorer, you may be interested in the huge range of snoring aids that are available online today. From chin straps to special pillows to the well known oral mouthpieces, there is likely to be something to help reduce or even eliminate you sleep disorder. A bit of research, a look at the online sleep apnea mouthpiece reviews, and a visit to your healthcare professional may be a good way to decide what to buy.

The conditions of sleep apnea and snoring have a close association, and many sleep apnea patients are also snorers too. It is possible to suffer from an innocent snoring condition alone. The use of snoring devices may help if you only suffer with mild to moderate symptoms.

Sleep apnea style mouthpieces often look like an oral gumshield worn in a number of sporting events. You can buy them online as a generic item, or visit your dental specialist to get a custom mouthpiece made, these cost a lot more but are one off items designed specifically for you. The off the shelf items are usually fine for most peoples needs, but you do need to follow the instructions for proper fitting.

Having utilised one of these devices for some time, I can say that it did provide some pretty good relief to my snoring and sleep apnea, which was only fairly mild. The device ensured that my airway was kept clear and that the soft tissues of my mouth and throat were not able to vibrate or collapse whilst I slept. It was a little uncomfortable for the first few days, but after that, it was not a problem at all.

There are a plethora of other useful aids for snorers and sleep apnea patients. Chin straps, CPAP machines like the remstar cpap unit, molded pillows and masks can all help. It’s worth chatting with your medical practitioner to see if they can help you too.

Finding Stop Snoring Products

July 5th, 2010 · Snoring

With so may stop snoring products on the market, I for one, used to find it very difficult to make a decision on what to use. I looked at the various mouthpiece style oral devices, and they do work very well. I have also tried nasal strips and snoring pillows with some success. I found the greatest success with a snoring chin strap, that almost cured my snoring overnight.

I was a snorer who snored like a train when I lay on my back, and usually slept with my mouth wide open, catching flies. The snoring chin strap allowed me to sleep however I wanted, but with my mouth closed. Not ideal if you suffer from serious nasal congestion, but fantastic in most other situations.

These chin straps, and indeed the other snoring devices, are best sourced online, as companies like amazon offer a wide range of products and usually at sale prices. My advice is to look at your symptoms and try to pin down the times you snore the worst. Then buy and try a product that can alleviate that situation. Well worth a try, and snoring could become a distant memory for you.

Can You Stop Snoring With A Snoring Mouth Guard

July 4th, 2010 · Products, Snoring

by Julian MacDowell

Are the marketers correct when they say that a stop snoring mouth guard can help stop you from snoring? Which snoring devices are the best to help alleviate snoring?

Well, the answer to the first question is a definite yes. The devices commonly known as dental devices are indeed a great product that has assisted many snorers over the years. These devices are extremely useful for those that suffer from mild sleep apnea. By preventing the soft throat tissues from collapsing as you sleep, the device reduces the snoring and apnea episodes. The blocking of the airway and vibrating tissues is what can cause a snore to occur.

You will often hear these dental devices referred to as a mandibular advancement device, and they work by keeping the airway clear and/or lifting the soft palate to prevent obstruction. These great devices keep the throat clear of blockage, and you stop snoring. Considering the low unit cost, these devices are really effective in reducing snoring.

Before we go on, I must tell you that there are two ways you can get an anti snoring mouth guard fitted. The most expensive way is to visit a specialist dental technician and get a custom mouth guard made to suit your features. This could set you back a few hundred dollars, and a lot of people are happy to go along with this. But for many, a snore guard that can be bought cheaply and easily from the internet will be just fine.

If you go for the dentist option, they’ll make a mold of the structure of your mouth and manufacture a one off snoring mouth guard for you. If you think this is the option for you, check out your local dental specialists.

For those of you that suffer from this annoying snoring problem and have trouble sleeping, fear not, help is available. Check out the links on my website if you want to discover other useful snoring and sleep apnea information and products. Or you can dive right in and find relief with a stop snoring mouth guard.
