Best Anti Snoring PillowSelecting The Best Anti Snoring Pillow

As a snorer trying to find the best anti snoring pillow, I was initially quite put off by the large number of products on the market, and felt sure that choosing one was going to be quite a task. The reality was that making a decision was not easy, but I was able to quickly build a shortlist of the types of anti snoring pillow that I was willing to consider.

Snoring has been the bane of my life for many years, and I finally got to a point that I really did need to take action to try to reduce the severity of the issue. I was also getting worried that I might have some other sleep problem, and decided to pay a visit to the doctor to make sure that my snoring was innocent.

The visit to the doctor was not what I expected, and he soon had me booked in to a sleep center that would monitor my sleep overnight and make a recommendation. The outcome was that I had a mild form of sleep apnea, but the use of an anti snoring pillow or some other snoring aid might be a good first step in trying to get a grip of the condition.

After spending quite a bit of time online looking at the various anti snoring pillow products, and reading what users had to say, I managed to get my list down to three possible candidates. Here they are in order of preference, starting with my favorite, the Sona Pillow.

Sona anti snore pillowThe Sona Anti Snoring Pillow

This pillow has seen a lot of coverage in recent years, appearing on the Dr Oz TV show in 2010, and causing a few days where websites with information on this product were inundated with enquiries. The approval by the FDA of the Sona Anti Snore Pillow as a medical device for use in the treatment of snoring and mild sleep apnea makes it a surefire winner. This is the only anti snore pillow that has been approved by the FDA, and this approval offers piece of mind and a measure of assurance that the product will do what it promises.

Another anti snoring pillow that really caught my attention, and was worth trying was this one.

Core Products CPAP Pillow

Core Products CPAP Anti Snoring PillowAlthough designed for use with a cpap machine, I found this pillow to work quite well for snoring too, but used a snoring mouth guard with it. The manufacturers specifications say that it works well for sleep apnea, and also with a mouthguard. Additionally it is sold as a product to help relieve neck and upper body pains, as well as for pregnant women.

I tried it and found it to be comfortable, supportive, and a please to sleep on. I think that the Sona pillow suited me more, and certainly reduced my snoring more effectively. This pillow retails for around $50, so is on a par with the Sona Pillow price-wise, but perhaps not quite as effective for snoring.

Thirdly, I tried the Splintek anti snoring pillow and liked a few things about it.

Splintek SleepRight Side Sleeping Anti Snoring Pillow

Splintek SleepRight Anti Snoring PillowThis pillow is sold with the intention of reducing snoring, sleep apnea, head neck and jaw pain, and insomnia, and I found it to be a fairly effective product. It is designed to encourage you to sleep on your side, and this worked well. I tend to roll onto my back during the night and 'catch flies' as I snore with my mouth open.

I found that the simple act of staying on my side made a noticeable difference to my snoring. It comes with a cotton velour pillow case that is hypo-allergenic and washable. To add to this, a 5 year guarantee is included.

These are the best anti snoring pillow designs that I used, although I have reviewed a number of others on the site. The Sona is an obvious stand out with it's FDA approval, and this makes it a safer option for a lot of buyers. This does not mean that the others do not work, they have just not gone to the FDA for approval.

These types of snoring aids are considered a good initial step for people trying to get some control over their snoring, and I would certainly advise you to nip and have a chat with your doctor when considering one. He might just say "Go ahead", but a sleep survey of some sort may be called for. If the results prove that the snoring is innocent, or that you perhaps have only mild sleep apnea, then you may well be in a position to shop for the best anti snoring pillow for your condition.
