Activa CPAP
Mask
I was recently asked by a friend for my opinion on the
Resmed Mirage Activa CPAP mask that I had recently
purchased for a family member. This person suffers from a
number of serious breathing related sleep disorders, and the
Activa cpap mask was purchased to improve the quality of their
therapy, and to make the whole experience more comfortable.
One thing that many cpap users complain bitterly about
regarding their cpap therapy is the
hassle and discomfort that they have to put up with on a daily
basis. The Mirage Activa cpap mask was really developed with
the user in mind, to offer a much easier to use, hassle free
,and comfortable fitting that would appeal to users. Restless
sleepers (or active sleepers as they like to be
known) often suffer a lot with their masks becoming
dislodged, and the Resmed Activa cpap mask works well
to ensure a night free from air leaks, due to the excellent and
secure seal design.
Using The Resmed Mirage
Activa CPAP Mask
Having a family
member with sleep apnea gives us the perfect chance to get
valuable feedback on some of the products that are on the
market, and the view on the Mirage Activa LT mask is
extremely positive. Having been using the standard cpap
mask that came with her Fisher Paykel cpap
machines as new, the user had been suffering some
discomfort and also ineffectual therapy for some time, or
so the compliance reports were indicating.
On changing over to the Resmed Activa mask, the results
changed quite dramatically over a period of days and into the
second week. We put this initial period down to getting used to
the new mask and the different feel it offered. Additionally,
the head harness was a pleasure to use, and the quikc release
headgear clips improve convenience of use.
Our review states that it is definitely the most comfortable
cpap mask ever, but in reality, it is only the third mask she
has ever worn, she wore a basic one with a prescription cpap
machine in the early days of the treatment. The Mirage Activa
ultra mirage full face mask is certainly not one of the
cheapest cpap nasal masks on the market, retailing for up
to $120, but it certainly does have a group of dedicated fans
that love it, and tend not to deviate from the product. Resmed
are a great company when it comes to CPAP equipment, and I
think it is fair to say that they provide a good product that
is at the cutting edge of cpap technology.
What Do Other Customers Think?
There is a lot of information online, including customer
reviews of the Activa CPAP mask series, and the consensus is
that this is a fine product. Here are a few comments from
customers:
"This is an excellent mask. Fits comfortable without
excess pressure"
"Still the best mask I can find, highly
recommended"
"This mask is so light it feels like you're not wearing
it"
As one would expect, all products receive the odd negative
review, even if they are good. I struggled to find many with
this cpap face mask, but did find someone who found it too
large and heavy for them. This is a valid point, but most
people feel that the mask is extremely light. Horses for
courses I suppose. But I would certainly say that 95% of
customer comments about the resmed mirage activa nasal cpap
mask pack are highly positive.
If you are interested in owning the Mirage Activa LT mask or
would like to try out one of the micro ultra mirage nasal mask
range, shop around, I found it here for under $100. Another thing to
consider is that Mirage activa maks parts are low priced and
readily available. The mask I found was about as cheap
as it got, worth a look if you decide that the Activa CPAP
mask is for you. Happy Hunting!
